Hunkering down in the garden shed

What a season it’s been. Just when we were all gearing up for a new year of shows and exhibitions Fate decided to rip up the schedules, leaving us isolated in our homes. The lucky ones, and I am one of them, still have access to their workshops though perhaps not always access to our usual sources of materials and equipment.

I depend on galleries for a lot of my sales and really appreciate the time, effort and enthusiasm they put in to promoting me to the wider world, something I don’t always have time to do on a daily basis. Sadly these businesses have had to go into virtual hibernation while the social distancing regulations are in force, perhaps relieved by some on-line sales if they are able to access their stock during this period. I do so hope you can take time to visit the gallery websites and plan a trip to visit them once the lock-down eases (see my list of stockists at the bottom of the page).

At the moment, I am taking part in the Instagram #artistsupportpledge campaign that aims to build a market for artists’ and makers’ work alongside creating a mutually supportive community. For each £1,000 of sales an artist takes they will pledge to spend £200 with another artist, all items being priced at £200 or less. In addition to this I have pledged to make a £50 donation to the charity Shelter who provide desperately needed support to folk struggling to find a home or retain the one they are in.

Designs are available to purchase here on my website while images of new work is often displayed on my Instagram page. If there is a piece of jewellery that calls to you, but you can’t see as being available, please do contact me and I will see what I can do to recreate it for you. No two items ever come out exactly the same but then, you wouldn’t want them to.
